Dealer Expo 2012 – day oneJune 05 2012 | 4:42 PM
After a later-than-expected departure from Detroit, and the usual five hour drive to Indianapolis, I was ready for a surprise. Park the car – check, hotel to drop bags – check, just get me to the Indiana Convention Center. Soon enough, I was checking in and immediately began to see the same familiar faces that I see every year at Dealer Expo – that dealer from Kentucky, that parts guy from New York, ah yes, the scooter company guy from Chicago. Yes, I made a beeline for the Genuine Scooters booth and immediately picked out Philip McCaleb from the dealers standing in line to talk to him and the rest of the representatives from “the smallest scooter company in America.” Philip greeted me with a smile and quickly directed my attention to the Psycho, the baddest 125cc Buddy ever and another familiar, yet new-looking face, the two-tone Stella. Without getting into a ton of detail, here’s the scoop – the Psycho is menacing, and perfect with its blacked out look and high quality suspension pieces. I heard that potential new dealers were checking it out, asking about becoming a Genuine dealer (it’s what’s done at Dealer Expo), and then getting mildly upset that Psycho is sold out and in no way available for order. There are exactly 174 Psychos out there, so if you want one, track it down immediately before you too get upset that you can’t go “Psycho.”
The Stella, is, in a word, amazing. Imagine taking a Stella (already an attractive, classic scooter) and slapping two colors of some pretty high quality paint on it. It takes the classic look of the Stella to another level. There are more details to come, but for now feast your eyes on the amazing transformation of our Stella, this time in a combo of avocado and creme. I’m so proud of her.
